The £2.50 Mascara That Really Did: THAT.

Most people rave about a mascara that cost them upwards of £5. I don’t have that kind of money. (£5… How broke am I? I’ll tell you how broke I am. I get paid £3.75 an hour. That’s less than minimum wage. But hey, that’s what being an apprentice does for you!).

So I went hunting for a cheap mascara that would work. Previously, my mum has bought my makeup so I could have something that was relatively more expensive. However, I buy my makeup now. I have to budget.

I was in Boots, and I saw Natural Collection. I’ve used their eye-shadows and mascaras before, but never their mascara. I was browsing the different mascaras they have, the Lash Length, the Lash Care, and I picked up the Water Guard mascara.

I love to have a little bit of waterproofing to my mascara, because my eyes water a lot when I go outside, and I don’t want my mascara running if it rains – because it rains a lot where I live.

I’ve been using it for about 2 months now. I love it. For a cheap product, I didn’t expect there to be much in the tube, and I didn’t think I’d get on with the brush, however I love the brush, and there’s loads of product.

As for how it applies, it applies wonderfully. If you only want a little bit of mascara, then that’s how it starts off as but it layers naturally and doesn’t clump your lashes together at all.

This mascara lengthens, thickens, and is waterproof. I’m very impressed, Natural Collection. Very impressed indeed. I don’t think I’ll be trying another brand of mascara for a while yet!

I’ve layered this mascara on quite heavily before and it still looked fairly natural. I can’t find a fault with this product – I even accidentally poked myself in the eye with the wand this morning and it didn’t even transfer! I was shocked.

As it’s waterproof it does take quite a bit of getting off, and if it does leave a black smudge under your eye that doesn’t go away easily either – but then again I don’t know if that’s just a me thing as I’ve had that issue with other mascaras before.

This mascara costs £2.49 and you can buy it in Boots in store and online here.

Have you ever used this mascara before? What do you think?
